🧲 The 5-minute drill to qualify your leads
It’s all you need to understand if they’re going to buy and when
Ben van Sprundel built a $100k/month agency and a detailed system for converting leads.

My favorite part?
His 5-minute drill to eliminate tire-kickers.
You might not close the deal on the first call, but one call should tell you if a lead will buy and when.
The most common mistake
At the end of the first sales call, most people say, “Alright, let me know if you have any questions!”
That’s how you end up in lead limbo.
Instead, close the call with clarity:
Are they interested?
Is now the right time?
What’s the next step?
Do this in the last 5 minutes, and your calendar won’t be full of unqualified follow-ups.

How the 5-minute drill works
Keep in mind: it can be uncomfortable, but it filters out time-wasters.
So do it.
Before wrapping up your first call, ask a few direct questions. No fluff. Just clarity. Good leads will respect you even more after this.
1. Ask the buying question
Right after explaining your offer, ask:
“Based on what we’ve covered, is this something you’d want to implement in your business?”
It’s open-ended, but direct. You’re watching how they react.
If they say:
“We need to look around a bit more” → Probably not serious.
“We’ll discuss internally first” → Not a priority.
“We’re also talking to one more agency” → They’re comparing options, but interested.
You get an instant feel for how close they are to buying.
2. Ask about timing
“Is this something you’re looking to move on now, or later in the year?”
The goal isn’t to pressure them. It’s to stop guessing.
If it’s now, you qualify them as hot. If it’s later, you don’t chase too soon.
3. Define the next step
Always end the call with clarity.
For Ben’s agency, the next step is a solutions call. He tells the lead what to expect and books it right away.
If they don’t have all the data yet, he gives them a task to prep before that second call.
Whatever your next step is, guide your leads to it. It’ll save you from endless follow-ups.
